French logistics firm Norbert Dentressangle is being acquired by US firm XPO Logistics in a £2.3bn deal.
The deal was facilitated by the Dentressangle family agreeing to sell their 67% shareholding in the company, which currently operates 3,662 vehicles.
Owner Norbert Dentressangle has been involved with the company for 36 years.
