Farm sells for £500,000
A lot comprising a three-bedroom farm house and 14 acres of farmland in Gillingham, Dorset, was the top lot at Auction House Symonds & Sampson’s 30 April auction, selling for £500,000 off a £400,000 guide. Seven out of the 10 lots on offer sold, reflecting a 70% success rate and raising £1.4m. The sale was held at Digby Hall in Sherborne.
Q1 success for Auction House
Auction House’s Q1 2015 results revealed a total of 611 lots sold in the first three months of the year out of 816 offered, a 75% success rate. A total of £69m was raised. The firm recently launched an upgraded website that uses eBay-style bidding.
85% success for Lansdowne
Lansdowne Property Auctions raised £3.3m at its most recent auction. Of 13 lots offered, 11 sold, an 85% success rate. A seven-bedroom freehold detached house in need of modernisation in Wembley, Middlesex, sold for £820,000. The sale took place on 30 April at the Connaught Hotel, W1.
Countrywide sale hits 92%
At Countrywide Property Auctions’ 30 April sale a seven-bedroom country home in Sidmouth, Devon, sold for £290,500. The lot was one of 34 offered, of which 31 sold, reflecting a success rate of 92% and raising £3.6m. The auction took place at Sandy Park Stadium, Exeter.
Sales boost for Brendons
London auction house Brendons Auctioneers has promoted Julie Gooding to director of operations. Gooding, who has been with the auction house for eight years, will now manage the full team as well as take charge of all recruitments. The firm has also announced a year-on-year sales revenue increase of 99%. The firm’s next auction takes place on 4 June at the DoubleTree Hilton, W5.
