Leisure entrepreneur buys pier

Llandudno-Pier2Leisure entrepreneur Adam Williams’s Tir Prince Raceway operation has bought Llandudno Pier in Wales for £4.5m.

Barclays supported Williams on the sale.

The Victorian pier was sold by Crown Entertainment Centres, which instructed Bilfinger GVA on the sale.

The agent is also advising Crown Entertainment Centres on the sale of two piers in Blackpool, which are on the market for a total of £8.1m.

Richard Baldwin, director in Bilfinger GVA’s retail, hotels and leisure team, said: “Llandudno Pier has attracted a large amount of interest since it came on to the market six weeks ago and to complete a sale in such a short timescale is extremely satisfying.”

Williams said: “Llandudno Pier is an important piece of Wales’s history and heritage and Tir Prince Raceway is excited to have the opportunity to own the pier and ensure that many thousands of people continue to enjoy its offering as a visitor attraction for years to come.”
