EY has appointed former JP Morgan banker Andrew Penny as a senior adviser to its corporate finance team.
Penny had previously been the global co-head of real estate investment banking at the US investment bank at the time of his departure in 2012.
He will work with Fraser Greenshields, head of real estate corporate finance, to advise EY’s team across a variety of transactions.
While he was at JP Morgan Penny was involved in a number of high-profile transactions including US REIT Simon Property Group’s 28.7% stake in Klépierre and Prologis’s $3.1bn (£2bn) acquisition of Prologis European Properties.
Penny was also the founder of JP Morgan’s real estate equity research team when he joined the business in 1999.
Penny joins EY at a busy time for the corporate finance team, which has advised on more than £10bn of transactions since 2011 including the sale of the Spinningfields portfolio, the sale of Battersea Power Station and the reverse takeover of Terrace Hill Group by Urban & Civic.
