Aeriance Investments has made a pair of hires, including an addition to strengthen its origination and syndication team.
Seb Sims has been recruited to the origination team and Neil Sargent has joined as general counsel.
Sims joins from RBS, where he was on the real estate restructuring team and managed a portfolio of the bank’s loans across the UK and Europe. In the role he was responsible for restructuring more than £3.5bn of transactions and acted as an adviser on the EPIC securitisation series. He has more than 10 years’ experience in real estate covering origination and syndication as well as restructuring.
Sargent joins with more than seven years’ experience of cross-border transaction through his work with international law firm Eversheds, where he was a senior associate. In his time there he developed a particular expertise in structured real estate debt origination and restructuring, and was recognised by the legal industry directory Chambers & Partners as a “rising star”.
Harin Thaker, chief executive at Aeriance Investments, said: “Both Seb and Neil are fantastic additions to our team as they join with significant and relevant experience in their respective fields that will further enhance our specialised offering as we extend an increasing number of loans to clients across Europe.”
