JLL takes quarter of Edinburgh market

Scottish-flag-THUMB.gifJLL bit into a quarter of the Edinburgh market retaining its title as the top agent in city, according to EGi’s Offices Research.

The agent disposed of more than 200,000 sq ft of space in the Scottish capital in the year to the end of February, signing one in every four deals.

But an upset may be on the cards with Cushman & Wakefield and DTZ’s merger, pushing the pair within four percentage points of the top spot. Total deals for Cushman combined with DTZ would have topped 165,000 sq ft comfortably, putting it in second place.

Savills climbed a massive eight places, increasing its average deal size from 2,600 sq ft to 15,400 sq ft in this year’s Edinburgh league table. The agent signed less than half the number of deals but a letting to Standard Life at St Andrews Square boosted its average up the ranks. Without that deal Savills would sit in ninth.
