M&L Hospitality beds down at Heathrow

arora-hotel-heathrowSingapore REIT M&L Hospitality has continued its push into the UK with the purchase of the Arora Hotel Heathrow in a £45m deal.

The 350-bedroom hotel is being sold by US hedge fund Davidson Kempner, which acquired it via the purchase of loans to Asian businessman Surinder Arora last year.

The hotel will be rebranded by M&L Hospitality as part of the deal.

Jeremy Jones, head of hotels brokerage at Christie + Co, which advised the vendor, said: “This is a prime piece of hotel real estate which piqued interest from major domestic and international -players from around the globe.”

It is the REIT’s second high-profile deal this year, following the completion of a deal in February to buy the 125-year leasehold of a 326-bedroom hotel development from the University of Manchester. The hotel is part of Bruntwood’s redevelopment of Manchester Business School.
