Whether you have picked up this copy of the Investor Guide at the London Real Estate Forum or not, knowing the best places to grab a bite around Mayfair’s Berkeley Square – one of UK property’s traditional heartlands – is always going to stand you in good stead. Here are some suggestions of top spots you can get to within 10 minutes, whatever mode of transport you choose
Social Eating House
58 Poland Street, W1
…a 10-minute walk
It might be hip and industrial chic but there is no danger if style over substance here. One of chef Jason Atherton’s most popular outposts, the food is exceptional. Just make sure you try duck egg and chips Perfect for post-event, or indeed work, drinks upstairs or dinner in the exposed brick restaurant on the ground floor. And if you really what to impress clients, book the chef’s table.

Hunan
51 Pimlico Road, SW1
…a 10-minute Tube ride
One of London’s most exciting and authentic Chinese restaurants, this is not one for those who need a straightforward menu. More often than not, the courses will be chosen by the chef for the table and delivered as a series of small, tapas-style plates. Do not leave without sampling the aromatic duck, and watch out for the Szechuan ox tongue – an acquired taste.

Berners Tavern
10 Berners Street, W1
…a 10-minute cab ride
Book early. You won’t find many restaurants in London where it is harder to secure a table. A celebrity favourite and a rival to the Chiltern Firehouse’s crown, this is the place to be seen.

Briciole
20 Homer Street, W1
…a 10-minute bike ride
An Italian trattoria serving unpretentious, hearty fare which will be perfect after an (albeit extremely swift) cycle. Menu favourites include fennel-flavoured sausage with sprouting broccoli, meatballs with pizzaiola sauce, and lemon sorbet with prosecco.

Hakkasan
17 Brunton Street, W1
…a 10-minute drink away
A stone’s throw from the square, you could fit in a swift post-event drink and still be here sampling the smoked beef ribs with jasmine tea (well, having ordered it at least) within 10 minutes… just. A classic for all the right reasons. When you are this close to a Hakkasan there is no reason not to go. It might not be the newest kid on Mayfair’s culinary block, but who needs new when you can have Michelin-star Chinese?
