Is yours a residential company to write home about?

EG-Awards-2015-THUMBHousing is a buzzword in the industry at the moment. And the national spotlight over the supply squeeze in the sector will only serve to emphasise innovation, quality and profitability in the companies delivering homes.

This means the EG Awards Residential Company of the Year category in this year’s EG Awards is expected to be hotly contested.

Having claimed the trophy for the past two years – last year triumphing over Countryside, Grainger, Mount Anvil and Linden Homes – Berkeley Group has shown where all entrants should be looking for inspiration.

It is the “residential development brand that all others aspire to emulate”, said one of the 2014 judges of Tony Pidgley’s firm.

The company proved sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand, having won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development two years running, and last year delivering a 40% increase in pretax profit.

But there are many ways a company can show it is winning. If yours has produced the goods, then get your entry in for your chance to win the 2015 trophy.

What to do

Grab the judges’ attention with an outstanding Twitter pitch, follow up with some superior testimonials and supporting information, and fill your submission with strong numbers as well as examples of how you show your commitment to stakeholders. Be current, be concise and remember, bigger doesn’t have to mean better – judges take into account the relative size of each company. Investment managers are also eligible to enter.
