Australian new homes sales rose 0.6% on the month in April, data from the Housing Industry Association of Australia showed.
Sales have risen each month this year, although the latest rise represented the smallest increase.
Figures in the regions varied widely, with sales in New South Wales up 7.2%, while sales in Queensland dropped 9%.
