Unite Group has been granted planning consent for a 579-bed student housing scheme on St Leonard’s Street, Edinburgh.
The £41m scheme is expected to complete in time for the 2017-18 academic year.
An 8,000 sq ft shop on the 1.8-acre site will be demolished to make way for the project.
The new five-storey property will house students in a mix of shared flats with communal living and kitchen areas, and self-contained studios. A 10,000 sq ft shop will be provided at ground level.
