Harworth Estates has received outline consent for 400 houses in Ellington, Northumberland, and 550 homes in Swadlincote, south Derbyshire.
The Ellington permission includes two full-sized football pitches, and a convenience shop, while the Derbyshire project includes a new urban park.
Some 45 acres of land will be developed south of Aiden Grove and Lynemouth Road in Ellington, taking in the site of the former Ellington Colliery as well as agricultural fields.
Three parcels of land comprise the Swadlincote project: 5.8 acres south of Woodview Road, 8.25 acres fronting Park Road and Woodland Road, and 66.7 acres north of William Nadin Way.
