Sigma Capital has signed an exclusivity agreement with Sheffield Housing Company for a 2,300-home private rented sector pipeline in Sheffield valued at £1bn. SHC is a long-term partnership between the local authority, developer Keepmoat and registered housing provider Great Places Housing Group.

Patron shifts forecourts

Clayton Dubillier & Rice has led a £500m management buy-out of Patron Capital’s petrol station assets. The Motor Fuel Group was sold to the US private equity group and its management, led by Alasdair Locke. Locke will remain as chairman. Sir Terry Leahy, former chief executive of Tesco, will join the board.

Euston road top for rent growth

Euston Road has become London’s best-performing market with rental returns growing by nearly 60% since the middle of 2013, according to EGi research. Midtown was one of the capital’s best-performing markets, with average annual growth of 15%. Paddington was the worst performer, with a rent roll returning growth of 3%.

Deloitte appoints five partners

Deloitte Real Estate has promoted five of its staff to the position of partner. They are: Julia Chowings – planning, London; Barry Crichton – real estate advisory, Manchester; Chris Lewis – tenant representation, London; Richard Beaumont – real estate tax, London; Helen George – real estate audit, London.

Kaupthing challenges court

Kaupthing is seeking a ruling that the UK courts have no jurisdiction to hear claims against it made by Vincent Tchenguiz in an action also involving accountants Grant Thornton. If the challenge is successful, Tchenguiz intends to pursue parallel proceedings against Grant Thornton and its partners in London, and against Kaupthing in Iceland.
