
BPF chief awarded CBE
Melanie Leech, chief executive of the British Property Federation and former director-general of the Food and Drink Federation, has been awarded a CBE for services to the food and drink industry. Robert Davis, deputy leader of Westminster council, received an OBE for services to planning and local government.
KF to market Ardent digs
Knight Frank has been appointed to bring the Ardent student housing portfolio to market at an asking price of £400m, reflecting a 6.25% yield. The portfolio, being sold on behalf of Guernsey-based International Mutual Fund, includes 25 assets spread across 12 UK cities.
Management buys Langtree
Management has bought out Langtree Group’s public sector development business, taking control of a range of public sector partnerships. Group chief executive John Downes will step down from his current role to lead the buyout and take a majority shareholding in the new company, to be known as Langtree Property Partners.
Savills enters Chinese jv
Savills Investment Management has entered into a joint venture with China Minsheng Investment Capital Co to develop and promote a series of funds and investment vehicles to invest in global real estate markets. The joint venture is the first of its kind between an international real estate investment manager and a private Chinese investment company.
New plans for Old Oak
Cargiant and London & Regional Properties have unveiled plans for their 46-acre site at Old Oak Common, NW10, to be dubbed Old Oak Park. The 9,000-home plan includes 1m sq ft of office space on a site where Queens Park Rangers wants to bring forward a regeneration plan anchored by a new stadium.
