Countrywide Property Auctions raised just over £2m at its latest sale at Le Meridien Piccadilly hotel, W1.

Of 35 lots offered, five sold prior and eight sold in the room, reflecting a 40% success rate.


Allsop offers Reigate listed lot

A 17th century building that was once home to one of England’s most senior judges is being offered at Allsop’s next sale on 6 July at The Dorchester, W1.

The Grade II listed property in Reigate, Surrey, covers 2,586 sq ft over three floors and is let to retailer Jack Wills for £75,000 pa. It is guided at £1.1m plus.


WI hut sells for £114,000

A wooden hut used by the Women’s Institute since 1934 has sold for £114,000.

The Haytor Vale WI hut in Newton Abbott, Devon, has a rateable value of £910 and stands in Dartmoor National Park.

It was the sole lot at the Rendells Newton Abbott sale at the Jolly Farmer, Newton Abbott, on 16 June.

Clive Emson West Country’s latest sale at the St Mellion International Resort in Cornwall raised £3.5m.

The 25 lots on offer at the 17 June auction drew a 72% success rate.

The top lot was a three-bedroom detached bungalow with panoramic views over Lyme Bay that sold for £425,000 against a guide range of £400,000 to £500,000.


Village school beats guide

A former village school with outside toilets, together with an unmodernised three-bedroom house, sold for £160,000 against a guide price of £100,000 to £120,000 at Clee Tompkinson Francis’ latest  auction.

The sale, which took place at Hotel Mercure in Swansea, raised £761,000, and sold 84% of lots.
