Jersey-based Cubitt Property Holdings is seeking to build a 60-storey residential scheme at 225 Marsh Wall, E14.
The development will include 425 flats. Cubitt acquired the site in 2013 for £17m from Angel House Developments, which went into administration after three failed attempts to develop the project.
In 2010 a similar scheme for 265 flats within a 43-storey tower was refused because the project was deemed to have a detrimental effect on the surrounding area.
However, tall buildings within the vicinity have been given the green light since the submission of the previous proposals, including the 31-storey Dollar Bay and 51-storey Meridian Gate, both E14.
