Keyland Developments is drawing up plans for a new 700,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme on its Wakefield East site in West Yorkshire.
Proposals are due to be submitted in late 2015, with a view to the site being development-ready by 2017.
The scheme will be predominantly office and industrial units to respond to the shortage of employment space in West Yorkshire. The exact mix will be driven by demand.
The project sits to the east of Wakefield town centre and forms the main commercial element of the 2,500-home City Fields project.
Keyland Developments managing director Peter Garrett said: “The site is one of the most strategically placed in the region and we are currently working on the masterplan to ensure that the application reflects the requirements of the local marketplace.”
It has instructed Bilfinger GVA and Knight Frank as letting agents.
Keyland, which is Yorkshire Water’s development arm, started taking on open-market developments in November last year, after previously only building out from the Yorkshire Water landbank.
