Sunday trading laws set for reform in budget

Chancellor George Osborne is set to announce changes to Sunday trading laws in his budget on Wednesday.

Currently larger shops are limited to six hours of trading on a Sunday. Osborne plans to give local councils and mayors the right to decide on what hours shops would be able to open.

The move could boost revenue and provide extra jobs. It would also enable retailers to compete better against online businesses.
