Sovereign signs shops and restaurants at Willow Place

Sovereign Land has signed two restaurants and two new shops at the Willow Place & Corby Town Shopping Centre, Northamptonshire.

Pep & Co, the UK’s new fashion clothing entrant, has taken 6,700 sq ft at 20 Willow Place on a two-year lease. It is currently fitting out and planning to open on 15 July.

• Goddards, the fashion retailer, has opened for trade at 7B Willow Place.  It has signed a 10-year lease at a yearly rent of £52,000 on the 2,500 sq ft store.

• Italgaleto, a regional ice cream and waffle retailer has taken 1,570 sq ft at 34 Corporation Street on a five-year lease at a yearly rent of £45,000.

• A world food buffet offer trading as ‘Vaagabons’ has taken 2,500 sq ft at 3-5 Corporation Street on a 10-year lease at a yearly rent of £25,000.

Willow Place & Corby Town Shopping was acquired in March 2015 by Sovereign and Europa Capital. The shopping centre comprises 800,000 sq ft, of space, including 146 retail units plus offices and residential accommodation.

Sovereign is currently implementing new development and retail mix enhancement initiatives and is working on plans to deliver the next phase of retail development to the south east corner of the town.

Simon Phipps, leasing development and asset management surveyor at Sovereign Land, said: “Corby is one of the fastest-growing towns in England with more than 28,000 new homes being built by 2020, which provides us with an excellent opportunity to expand and enhance the retail, restaurant and leisure provision for this growing town.”
