Brockton Capital, joint owner of Birmingham’s Mailbox development, has appointed GBR Phoenix Beard as joint agent for Mailbox offices.

GBR Phoenix Beard joins CBRE as joint letting agent for the scheme’s circa 50,000 sq ft office element.

According to Brockton, the new grade-A office space is Birmingham’s largest-ever commercial space on a single floorplate. The space can be divided to accommodate more than one tenant and provide space ranging from 20,000 sq ft to 50,000 sq ft.

The office space is currently being fitted out and will be ready for occupation this autumn, as part of the wider £50m redevelopment of the Mailbox.

Brockton acquired the Mailbox in 2011 through a joint venture with Milligan Retail.

Ben Thacker, director and head of office agency, GBR Phoenix Beard, said: “Brockton has embraced the opportunity at Mailbox to deliver a high-quality office environment, situated on the doorstep of New Street Station and offering a real alternative to the space typically found in the traditional business district.

“The location, environment and quality of the space will have cross-sector appeal to both existing Birmingham occupiers and outside the city at a national level, particularly for companies looking to relocate from London and the South East.”

Mailbox offices are already home to BBC Birmingham, Network Rail and Associated Architects.
