Herbert Smith Freehills has hired Kate Barry as team leader in its Belfast office. She will spearhead the Belfast arm of the firm’s expanding real estate dispute resolution group.
Barry is an experienced commercial property litigator who joins the firm from Shoosmiths. She specialises in portfolio management issues, where her expertise ranges from lease renewals, contentious rent reviews and dilapidations claims to matters concerning contractual interpretation, easements, restrictive covenants, adverse possession, rights of light and party wall issues.
Hervert Smith Freehill’s Belfast office has grown rapidly since it opened in 2011, from 26 in the team at first to more than 125.
