Lidl to build new London HQ
Lidl has bought a south-west London site where it plans to build a 220,000 sq ft headquarters.
The German discounter paid £10m for the site in Tolworth, Kingston.
It will move 750 staff into the building in 2018.
Bluebook bags Fiennes
West End office agency Bluebook has recruited former H2SO partner, and head of central London lease advisory at Colliers International, Felix Fiennes as a salaried partner.
Fiennes will work alongside Bluebook partner Nick Powell in providing lease advisory and asset management advice to the firm’s central London landlord and occupier clients.
Guildford votes on LandSec deal
Guildford borough council is to vote on terminating its development agreement with Land Securities for the North Street redevelopment.
Officers have recommended the council considers alternative options for the site, which has scope for a 400,000 sq ft scheme – just over a year after LandSec was chosen as preferred bidder.
Councillors will vote next week.
A redevelopment of the Surrey town has been mooted since the 1980s.
Chinatown scheme approved
Shaftesbury has got the go-ahead for the redevelopment of its Chinatown retail and restaurant project.
The site, on Charing Cross Road, WC2, backs on to Newport Court and will be developed into 32,000 sq ft of shops and 13,500 sq ft of restaurants.
