Engineering firm Alstom has signed a development agreement with Goodman UK Logistics for a 200,000 sq ft facility on Redhill business park in Staffordshire.
Alstom will use the bespoke facility for a research and development facility with 400 employees.
Goodman will finance and build the facility, leaving Alstom the option of leasing or purchasing the block on completion.
The pair have also applied to build a 200,000 sq ft facility for Alstom’s HVDC and systems operations, moving from the firm’s existing Stafford site in St Leonards.
Alstom’s automation division is due to move into the new facility by the end of 2016.
Cyril Leonard structured the deal alongside Hogan Lovells.
