Top industrial agent Tim Johnson is joining Chancerygate to spearhead its expansion into larger scale logistics and distribution.
The former JLL international director – who joined from King Sturge when it was acquired in 2011 – is one of the best-known figures in the industrial world and in 2014 won the Industrial Agents Society’s award for outstanding contribution to the industry.
Johnson, widely known as “Jumbo”, will complement Chancerygate’s small unit and trade counter business by opening up large-scale shed development markets.
The London-headquartered firm has traditionally focused on units of 30,000-50,000 sq ft around major population hubs. It has 350,000 sq ft of sheds under construction and a pipeline of 760,000 sq ft.
Last autumn, Chancerygate announced a £100m development programme, shifting focus away from its South East heartland towards the North with the opening of a Manchester office.
Chancerygate managing director Eddie Cook said: “Bringing Tim into our business represents a major step forward for Chancerygate, and will increase the range of developments we want to initiate.”
In June, Chancerygate hired RO Real Estate’s Andrew Busby as project manager.
