Residents’ frustration over TV presenter’s eco-development

Applewood, an estate designed by HAB, a company set up by Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud, has been the subject of a number of complaints by residents.

The eco-development comprises 78 homes built by GreenSquare on the site of a former hospital in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Complaints have included uncapped chimneys, unsealed windows and non-compliant central heating systems.

Simon McWhirter, of HAB, said a plan was in place to deal with the remaining issues, while Phil Bowley, of GreenSquare, said most snagging issues had been resolved.
