Allied London has submitted planning for its first phase of the £1.3bn St John’s development on the former ITV Granada Studios site in Manchester.
A site adjacent to Grape Street has been selected for a circa 190,000 sq ft project, with 80,000 sq ft of offices, 57 flats and 36,500 sq ft of retail space.
The project was designed by Simpson Haugh & Partners, and will cover nine buildings after the site – which includes an early outdoor set for Coronation Street – is cleared.
In total the project will include 2,500 homes and 600,000 sq ft of offices.
