Point Blank music school, where artists including drum and bass DJ Goldie studied, has bought an office building in De Beauvoir, N1, for conversion into a music school.
City & Suburban Homes has sold the 999-year long leasehold on the 6,369 sq ft premises for £1.9m.
The school, established during the 1990s dance music revolution, now offers courses in Los Angeles, London and online.
Other past students include Leona Lewis, AlunaGeorge, Gemma Cairney and Dave Rene.
