Oar-some BSM achieves punting hat-trick

Barker Storey Matthews out-punted, outclassed and outpaced nine other property competitors to win the Cambridge Punting Challenge for a third year.

The four-man team left their closest river rivals, Cheffins, in their wake for a second year in a row – although the runners-up remained cool under pressure despite controversy on the start line.

For the first time London was represented at the Cambridge area networking event, organised by Bidwells and supported by Estates Gazette, with Team JLL making the journey to compete and taking the prize for wettest competitor.

At several points the JLL team abandoned the pole and resorted to clawing their way along the river
bank walls.

“The strategy was to come here and give it a good shot, but we realised that power and confidence alone were not going to do, and that a bit of technique was required, which was completely missing,” said Angus Currie, a director in tenant representation.
