Allied London has let 16,699 sq ft at the XYZ Building in Manchester to media and entertainment group Global, the first letting at the scheme.
Global – the brand behind Capital, Heart and Classic FM, as well as LBC – will take the top two floors at XYZ – the new name for the Cotton Building – in autumn 2016, and will consolidate its two offices in Salford Quays.
Global chief executive Stephen Miron said: “The XYZ building is a great fit for Global’s culture, offering a dynamic workplace. We are delighted to be Allied London’s first signing and we look forward to moving into our new home in the heart of Spinningfields.”
Allied London chief executive Michael Ingall said: “XYZ is a concept that we have dedicated years of design and research to. We identified the future of workspace requirements three years ago and developed a capability to develop this type of building, through our platforms, Hello Work and Capital Properties.
“This is our second major TMT solution this year with the recent announcement by Sky to adopt Leeds Docks for its northern technology hub. We are delighted that our corporate vision set two years ago is being realised and wheels are in motion to launch our second XYZ Building at Leeds Dock.”
