Quill luxury flats plan approved

Southwark council has approved Bilford’s plan to turn its 31-storey Quill development, SE1, into luxury flats.

Instead of providing 470 student beds, the building will now house 119 private sale homes.

The tower, approved in 2011, will sit on the former site of Capital House on Weston Street and St Thomas Street.

Delays on the project means that King’s College London – for which the student beds were to provide primary accommodation – found premises elsewhere.

It was designed by SPPARC.

Deloitte Real Estate advised on planning.
