Ashford borough council has agreed to work with developers Quinn Estates and George Wilson Holdings on the first office site in the Ashford Commercial Quarter.
The masterplan for the area – opposite Ashford International Station – includes 590,000 sq ft of offices focused around a main business hub, and 150 homes.
Ashford council leader Gerry Clarkson said: “They are local developers with a strong track record and reputation for delivery and we look forward to working with them to bring the exciting plans we have for the area to life. The Commercial Quarter will become the economic heartbeat of the town by creating an impressive new office space and jobs as well as supporting our growing reputation as the number one business location in Kent.”
Work on the Commercial Quarter is anticipated to start on site in spring 2016 with an 18-month build timetable.
