Boris backs London ‘High Line’

Boris-Johnson-THUMB.jpegMayor of London Boris Johnson has backed a plan to turn disused railway tracks in Peckham, SE15, into an elevated park to mimic New York’s High Line.

The Peckham Coal Line will get a £10,000 investment from the mayor’s office as part of its High Street Fund to improve town centres.

The line will run between Queens Road and Peckham Rye train stations in a 1km park.

Johnson’s funding will pay for a feasibility study into the plans.
