Construction equipment manufacturer JCB has announced plans to cut 400 jobs in the UK, or 6% of its workforce there, as it looks to combat a sharp drop in machine orders in recent weeks.
UK growth has slowed to 9% from 30% a year ago, the company said.
Job cuts among the company’s non-UK workforce have not been ruled out.
