Hastings Direct has signed one of the the largest office prelets seen in Leicester city centre in recent years.
The insurance firm has taken 60,000 sq ft at Infrastructure Investment’s St George’s Central, close to Leicester railway station, for a new call centre and back-office operations.
It will be based on the first and second floors of the building on a 10-year lease and take occupation in February 2016, following an extensive fit out. Around 750 staff will be housed in the building.
The 21-storey tower is home to a Premier Inn hotel over 10 floors, 160 student study rooms and one of the largest Pure Gyms in the country.
St George’s Central is now fully let – a massive turnaround for the building, which has sat half-empty for the past 10 years.
