Crown offers Cheshire resi site

Delamere-resi-site-300The Crown Estate has brought a 30-acre residential site in Delamere, Cheshire to market.

The site has outline planning permission for 180 homes, 30% of which will be affordable.

The former industrial site, located next to Delamere Forest and nine miles from Chester, will return over half the site as green space for community uses, including allotments, woodland walks, wetlands and informal play areas.

The planning consent includes provision for a new roundabout, highway safety improvements and pedestrian safety improvements at Delamere station.

Steve Melligan, strategic land manager, The Crown Estate, said: “This is an excellent development opportunity and another example of how The Crown Estate is actively managing its assets to bring brownfield sites back into productive use, including helping to meet demand for new homes and providing key infrastructure improvements to the local community.”
