A grade II-listed house on the site of inventor Richard Arkwright’s first water-powered spinning wheel is being offered at Savills’ next regional sale, guided at £200,000 to £250,000.
The sale takes place on 22 October at Nottingham Racecourse.

William H Brown’s sale on 1 October, at Barnham Broom Hotel and Country Club in Norwich, raised £2.8m.
Some 31 lots were offered, of which four sold prior to the auction and 22 went on the day, giving an 84% success rate.
Twyford lot powers Romans
A detached house on nearly an acre of land in Twyford, Berkshire, sold for £818,000 from a £600,000 guide, at the latest Romans sale.
The 30 September auction, at Green Park Conference Centre, Reading, raised £2.8m; 84% of the 12 lots on offer sold.
Brum former cinema on offer
A former cinema in Kings Heath, Birmingham, with permission for conversion to 14 two-bedroom flats and a shop, is being offered at CP Bigwood’s next sale with a £600,000 guide price.

Fair cop for police station
Avonmouth Police Station was among 25 lots sold at Hollis Morgan’s 30 September sale at All Saints Church in Bristol, selling for £339,000 against a £275,000 guide.
The sale raised £4.7m and achieved a 93% success rate.
