John Strachan, global head of retail at Cushman & Wakefield, and Rakhi Parekh, former director of UK media at Amazon, have been appointed as non-executive directors at intu.

They will replace Neil Sachdev, who will step down at intu’s annual general meeting next year and Andrew Huntley, who will retire in 2017.


Irish mall on block for €150m

The largest regional shopping centre in Ireland is being sold for €150m (£110m) – a 7.5% yield.

Owners Ballymore and Grant Thornton have instructed Savills and Coady Supple to market the 300,000 sq ft Whitewater shopping centre in Newbridge, County Kildare.


KF partner joins Carter Jonas

Carter Jonas has hired Darren Yates from Knight Frank as its new head of research.

Yates was a partner at Knight Frank and head of global capital markets research.

His appointment comes after Catherine Penman stepped down as Carter Jonas’ head of research to focus on the partnership’s rural division.


Cheesegrater-THUMB.jpegOMERS signs for Cheesegrater

Canadian Pension fund OMERS has completed the letting of 25,000 sq ft at the Leadenhall Building, EC3.

The fund, whose real estate arm Oxford Properties jointly developed the building, will move its 75 London-based staff onto levels 28 and 29 in January.

The deal means the 610,000 sq ft building is now 90% let or under offer.


CBRE poaches C&W partner

CBRE has hired Edinburgh-based Cushman & Wakefield partner Angela Lowe as a senior director.

Lowe has worked at C&W since 1999.

Her departure follows the company’s takeover by DTZ.

She will join CBRE’s Edinburgh office.
