McCarthy & Stone plans stock market return

McCarthy & Stone is planning a return to the stock market, nearly 10 years after it was taken private in 2006.

The company plans to raise £70m from an issue of shares, and will use the proceeds to buy land and fund construction. The listing could value the company at £1bn.

Around 57% of the company is owned by Goldman Sachs, TPG, Anchorage and Strategic Value Partners. Goldman Sachs will be joined by Deutsche Bank and Jeffries as bookrunners on the issue.
