Accountancy firm KPMG is close to securing a new Scottish headquarters at St Vincent Plaza, Glasgow.
The firm, which currently has its office at NFU Mutual’s 191 West George Street, is in talks with developer Abstract Securities to take 39,000 sq ft of space on the top three floors of the recently completed speculative office scheme.
It is looking to agree a deal for a 10-year lease. Rents at the 170,000 sq ft scheme range from £23-£25 per sq ft and, as KPMG is taking the prime space in the building, it is expected to pay the higher end of the scale.
Abstract completed the scheme on 25 September and has been marketing space through agents Ryden and CBRE.
There has been a recent shortage of office stock in Glasgow, with some 700,000 sq ft of requirements in the area, according to a market source.
St Vincent Plaza is one of three speculative developments in the city, along with BAM Development’s 110 Queen Street and M&G and Clearbell’s 1 West Regent Street.
Knight Frank is acting on behalf of KPMG.
