Battersea Phase 4A wins planning

SampsonHaugh-BatterseaPhase 4A of the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, SW8,  has received planning permission from Wandsworth borough council.

The Battersea Power Station Development Company submitted plans for 374 affordable homes at the beginning of the summer, alongside incubator space and redevelopment of the public realm.

The homes range in size from one to four bedrooms, with 258 at discounted rent and 116 discounted sale. Completion is expected by 2019.

The Phase 4A homes bring the redevelopment’s total proposed affordable housing provision to 581, 64 more than the 517 required as part of the 2011 Battersea Power Station masterplan. The average discounted rent will be 65%.

The plans also include 12,000 sq ft of small business incubator space, a 17,000 sq ft public health centre and almost 61,000 sq ft of redevelopment of the public realm.

Phase 4A has been designed by Patel Taylor and Battersea Power Station’s site-wide executive masterplanner JTP.
