Sociable Surveyors honour top placements

Sociable-Surveyors_2015More than 450 students, young surveyors and property professionals attended the Sociable Surveyors 2015 Awards last week.

The event, organised by Sociable Surveyors, the largest global property internship scheme, took place at the east London headquarters of law firm Allen & Overy. It marked the achievements of 50 young people who had completed coveted internships with some of the largest international property companies.

Guest speakers included Chris Grigg, chief executive of British Land; John Slade, chief executive of BNP Paribas Real Estate UK; Matt Howell, UK & Ireland managing director of the RICS; and Paul Morrish, chief executive of LandAid.

A charity auction to raise money for LandAid gave the interns the opportunity to bid for dinners with key industry figures, sporting events and an editorial spread in Estates Gazette.

As well as celebrating the completion of the internships, the evening, hosted by Sociable Surveyors co-founders Sebastian Abigail and Elliot Sparsis, gave like-minded young surveyors and aspiring students the chance to network.

Abigail said: “We are thrilled to have raised more than £8,000 for LandAid, a charity that we have supported since Sociable Surveyors was first conceived in our university bedrooms in 2011.”
