Plans to redevelop JLL’s former headquarters at 22 Hanover Square, W1, into a 200,000 sq ft five-star boutique hotel with luxury apartments have been given the go-head by the Westminster city council.
DP9 is advising Eros, on behalf of Indiabulls, on its proposal to demolish the 115,000 sq ft office block and erect a new building with three basement levels, lower ground, ground and first to ninth floors – offering spa, bar and dining facilities for guests and public use.
Planning committee chairman Robert Davis, cabinet member for planning, praised the “attractive design” of the proposed building and said it could be a “game changer” in that part of Hanover Square.
The scheme is approved subject to mayoral approval and a section 106 contribution of £10m to the council’s affordable housing fund.
The block at 22 Hanover Square, known as Celanese House, is an unlisted office block built in the 1920s. It is currently sublet to a serviced office provider whose lease expires in March 2017.
Following the merger with King Sturge, JLL vacated the building and set up new headquarters at 30 Warwick Street, W1.
