MIPIM UK 2015: Zaha Hadid would consider designing commercial towers in the UK capital, criticising London’s “high density, low-rise buildings” that “do not permit public domain”.
The world-famous architect known for her more horizontal designs told delegates after her keynote speech at MIPIM UK: “I have never resisted towers necessarily. But urbanisation and smaller sites mean you have to build more densely now. And so towers have become more interesting as there has been a move back to the city.”
“After 9/11 people assumed no one would build any more. But they are still very interesting.”
