Urban&Civic has submitted plans for a major hotel, residential and retail scheme in Manchester city centre.
The one-acre site on the corner of Princess Street and Whitworth Street comprises a four-storey basement car park but has been derelict for more than a decade.
Urban&Civic bought the site in December.
Plans submitted to Manchester city council include two residential buildings comprising 238 flats, a 148-bedroom hotel, ground floor commercial units and a public square over the existing car park.
If approved, construction will start next summer with the first residents moving in in 2018.
Urban&Civic development manager Andrew Lavin said: “Our vision is to create a vibrant development that sensitively reconnects the site to the surrounding area. We believe the introduction of local independent traders in the ground floor units will help integrate the scheme into the neighbourhood. We plan to retain ownership and long-term stewardship as we believe in the site’s potential and long-term investment value.”
