A 30-acre site on the outskirts of Oxford which has planning consent to be turned into a natural burial site has been put up for sale for £3m.
JLL has been instructed by David Wilson from Harcourt Investments to find a buyer for Weaveley Arboretum in Kidlington, Oxfordshire.
The site has the potential to accommodate 25,000 burials and includes the necessary infrastructure for a burial site, including a round house for services and ground water monitoring equipment.
There is also potential for a new owner to put in a crematorium, subject to planning.
Government estimates suggest that all 130 cemeteries in London will be close to full capacity within the next three years, meaning relatives will have to look outside the capital for burial plots.
A 2013 study by the BBC found 44% of local authorities said they would run out of cemetery space within 20 years, while 25% said they would have no space left within a decade.
