English National Ballet are moving with English National Ballet School to London City Island, E14

English National Ballet has sold its HQ of 37 years, Markova House in Jay Mews, SW7, to the Royal College of Music for around £10m.   

Lambert Smith Hampton advised the English National Ballet on the sale, which is expected to complete in autumn 2018.

The Royal College of Music will use the 16,000 sq ft space as a base for its research department as well as orchestral and opera rehearsals.

English National Ballet are moving with English National Ballet School to London City Island, E14, a new 70,000 sq ft development from Eco World Ballymore.

The new HQ will include eight studios for rehearsals and teaching and public spaces with access to parts of the school’s archives.

Lambert Smith Hampton is advising English National Ballet on the move.

Ezra Nahome, chief executive of Lambert Smith Hampton, said: “We found them a new venue in an up-and-coming cultural cluster and enabled them to generate value from their existing premises.”

English National Ballet executive director Caroline Thomson added: “We are delighted to have exchanged contracts with the Royal College of Music, ensuring that Markova House remains in the family of arts and culture organisations.”
