UPS gets green light for Gateway hub

london-gateway-cgi-THUMB.jpegUPS has secured planning permission for a new 340,000 sq ft delivery facility at the DP World London Gateway logistics site in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex.

The project will cost around £120m and is expected to complete in the summer of 2017. The facility will act as a UK hub and distribution centre for the local area.

HE Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, chairman at DP World, said: “By using DP World London Gateway park and port, UPS will have a fast ‘global conveyor-belt’ directly connected to its own worldwide network. UPS’ hub will also provide distribution solutions to other logistics park occupiers.”
