Marks & Spencer and Next have signed to take more than 70,000 sq ft at Genr8 Development’s regeneration scheme in Rochdale, Yorkshire.
M&S will relocate from its nearby town centre store, taking 50,000 sq ft at the Genr8 scheme.
Next, which does not currently have a store in Rochdale, will take more than 22,000 sq ft over two floors.
The deals represent the first prelets at the 200,000 sq ft mixed-use retail and leisure scheme, which is being developed as a joint venture between Genr8 and Kajima Partnerships.
Cheetham & Mortimer acted for Genr8.
