Central London continues to see growth in office building, with construction work at a seven-year high, a report by Deloitte Real Estate shows.
Construction work has risen by 18% over the last six months, and the number of projects under construction – at 77 – is the highest since 2008. The number of sites where existing buildings are being demolished and the site is being prepared for work has risen by 24%.
Steve Johns, head of city leasing at Deloitte Real Estate, said tenants had already been found for 4.3m sq ft of the total 11.1m sq ft of office space under construction.
