Mortgage redemptions at Co-op Bank totalled £1.76bn in the first nine months of the year, the bank said.
That was only just shy of the £1.80bn in new mortgages written by the bank over the nine-month period.
The redemptions were due to customers coming off fixed-rate mortgages and taking out loans from other lenders in a competitive market.
